SPD pedals that i can use with flat shoes

Yes, i'm a greedy bugger that wants the best of both worlds. Basically, i'm after pedals that i can use both clipped in and with flat shoes - but ideally i want these to be double-sided, not the single-sided ones that seem to be prevalent. I also don't want to spend loads...
I've narrowed down the shortlist to... (in ascending price order)

Does anyone have any experience of these/views - or any suggestions for alternatives?
cheers

I'd go for the M424s. The M647s are definitely overkill for commuting (they're designed for downhill mountain biking and BMX racing), and IIRC the main difference between the M424 and M545 is the material of the cage. The bearings might be slightly better, but I know people who have M520s (bottom end cheapest SPDs available) which are 4 years old that still run as well as the day they got them.0

I use the m424 on my commuter, they are fine, decent quality and fairly light. the pedal its self is large enough to use if you need to pop out to the shops at lunch and dont want to get changed back into your cycleing gear.

Yep - another supporter of the 424. Just be aware that they can get a bit slippy if you're wearing regular trainers in the rain.0
