Lightweight rack for bike with carbon seatstays

Does anyone know if is it possible to safely fix a light rack to a Specialized Sequoia. I can't use a seat post rack as I have a carbon seat post (and if I had an Alu one would want to put too much strain on the neck of the seat tube), and the bike has carbon seat stays so I can't have clamps on the stays.
I am intending to do a long distance route in the UK this summer uising and hope to use my Specialized Sequoia. I will travel light using a 5L bar bag - for map, valuables, food etc, a 5L saddle bag - for tools and rain wear, and - hopefully - a light rack and two small-ish panniers to hold a toothbrush, soap and single change of kit. My only alternative to using the Sequoia is a 12 year old rigid rockhopper - but that will need a bit of work on the gears so I'd like to avoid it.
(apologies if this should be under Tour & Expedition)

I have the Sequoia Elite and am led to believe it is possible to fit a rack.Where the seat stays join the drop-outs there is what looks like an Allen Bolt.Apparently these can be undone to allow the 'legs' of the rack to be attached.
Same Allen Bolt thing at the top where the 'arms' would fit.I had this from Specialized web site. However, one of the guys at Edinburgh Bicycle Coop seemed horrified by the idea and I have never followed through.I have a seat-post rack and bag to hold my DSLR and gear.Sorry I cannot be more help, but I read somewhere of people fitting racks so it is 'possible'.0 -
Thank you Pictit for hitting the nail on the head.
I remember hearing that these points could be used for fixing also, but have always thought the allen points look like they are part of they arrange for holding the seat stays in place. I'll wait to see if anyone else uses them for fixing a rack and if not email Specialized.0 -

I am certain these are the attachment points. What I am,like you, unsure of is does one need new, longer, bolts or what?.I'd guess that the bolt does not go through to other side of the drop outs.Looking at the them it doesn't seem as though they do.Go on,loosen one and have a look. You know you want to!!! .0
