I'm after a bit of help with identifying a bike that we recovered at Chiswick Police a few weeks ago. (I'll be posting this on MTB section as well)

It's a MTB but all the markings have been removed totally and we are trying to return it to it's loving owner asap.

It's a titanium frame so it's got to be worth a bob or two!!!

I saw those dropouts and I thought Moots. I think it might be a Moots YBB
  • Gareth, Cheers we will give it a go.

  • Those dropout do look like a moots, but the ybb is a softtail, the one pictured isn't.

If you remove the rear wheel, is there anything written on the rear mech hanger?

ETA: might be worth posting this in the MTB General forum, bound to be someone there who knows.

    Are those tyres on backwards?

Depends what you mean by 'backwards' - some MTB tyres such as Panracer FirePro XCs have a bi-directional tread and the orientation of the tread depends on whether it's being fitted to the front or back wheel and usually the front rolls easier whilst the back presents more surface area to the dirt to aid drive in lose/muddy conditions
