Im looking to buy a Downhill bike, what do people think about the Iron Horse Sunday Team???? I cant find any reviews on this bike, does it come recommended as a quality starting bike, good enough to race out of the box??

Comments

  • i dont own one myself but i hear that they are very good i would definatly buy one if i had the money
  • There good bikes but it depends on you riding style. The sunday is very agile but the only thing i could not get on with is the ground clearence. Ride one before you buy is my advice
the only was to push your limits is to overstep then now and then
  • Thanks for that, ive also been looking at the Mongoose Boot'r Team bike, its got a good spec for the price, but does Mongoose still carry the stigma of 'cheap bikes'?? What would people go for between the Iron horse sunday team 09, Mongoose Boot'r team 09 or the Kona stab supreme 08 :?:
  • The mongoose looks ok just not sure on the frame. never ridden or seen one however so not going to slate it. With regards to the kona if your looking at an 08 model you might get a good deal. At this time of year id be looking for an 08 the 09 models are at top whack price and are only going to drop.

  • one of the guys from mbuk just got a iron horse sunday team and he says its brilliant
  • The iron horses are a shit hot bike but they are aimed at racing, they are low slung and light. Not a good Idea if your a novice dh'r.
Have a look at Kona's,specialized these are good kit for your muller and are bombproof to a exstent.
Like the guy last said have a shop around there is some real bargins to be had out there.

    What's your budget?

Orange 224 and Trek Session 88 both seem to be excellent race ready bikes, but with the appropriate cost.

i wouldnt get a kona for dh apparently the frame is really weak
  • If you check out the other "first DH bike thread" youll see my lengthy lecture on why the IH Sunday is the best bike on the market, if it's the 2009 Team you're thinking of I'd say that would be an excellent starter bike (I'm getiing one myself in summer)
