clip on front guard

I'm after a clip on front guard that goes onthe down tube, like the mtb ones, this will do oth my tricross commuter and my road bike for wet weekend rides.

can you get a road bike one or do i just need to get a mtb one

    I have a crud catcher for my mtb which fixes with rubber bands, can't see why this wouldn't fit, however it won't really work to keep you dry. The downtube intercepts most of the water anyway, the bit where you need protection is your feet and ankles, which get soaked pretty quickly, so full mudguards are the only worthwhile solution IMHO (crud catchers on mtb's do catch loads of mud that would otherwise fly up in your face, but on the roads the water streams up over your feet).
