Should you?

I used my new craft toe covers for the first time today. I only walked along the train station platform and I've got little holes in the bottom already :?

Am I a fool?

What does every one else do?

I've not used over shoes for years.
But when I did I still walked in them, not much choice really if you want to be convenient.
I use Gore-Tex boots for winter these days.

I walk in mine for a short distance to the office. They have reinforced toes and so are still in one piece!
Would be gutted if I wrecked them cos they are the best thing I have bought for winter riding!

If they are lycra you will inevitably end up with holes in them!
I ge about a year's worth use and then toss them, but I'm not that careful!

I do hardly any walking in mine (Altura Neoprene) - just across the carpark each day - but they're starting to shred underneath already. I'm hoping these last a bit longer than the ones i've had before, they've got reinforced toes.
  • I'm normally very careful with overshoes as they seem to get holes at the slightest excuse - however I recently got some of the Endura ones with kevlar reinforced bottoms and they are holding up well

Depends on the design - but no - they're not really made for much walking at all. You can get MTB overshoes with more of the sole exposed - cos MTBers are more likely to need to walk than roadies.
