I'd love him to haul his ass over the cols and win green. Wonder how long it will be before the press get on his back because he's quite confident and brash and the press loves a gallant loser.
It's a little like wrestling a gorilla. You don't quit when you're tired. You quit when the gorilla is tired.

I'm sure the peloton fashion police will turn a blind eye to the socks. Long socks are in nowadays.

And after seeing the new Team Columbia kits, I think his socks are the least of his fashion problems!

    Agreed.
  • Hmmm, this long socks fashion, blood transfusions, venous access, bruising, elbows (traditional site) very visible, ankles -nice big veins. I'll get my coat I was going any way.

Err he's British so he doesn't cheat. Except David Millar, Tom Simpson, Malcolm - I'll get my coat too...

Problem is, when they do cheat they're not very good at it. Probably because they haven't had the practice from an early age, like the continentals. Anyone know of any Brit riders who got into doping at 15, a la RIcco?

So there I was in Majorca on Tuesday going up the San Salvador climb when two riders clad on yellow came past me.Kim Kirchen and another rider in the new kit, on new Scotts. Bikes were nice, kit looked like a Saunier out-take. I picked up speed to latch on the back but it was never going to happen - it was like a day out in the sun for them, I sweated (but I did go all the way up), but they came back down at about the two-thirds mark

  • I love the line "swapped sequins for lycra at the age of 14" - How gay can you get lol??

Also, if he can get his arse over the Poggio he can win MSR, the last hour and a half is like a madison with hills!
