Which Wheel truing stand

I am going down the road of building my own wheels. I know I could bodge something with an old fork or frame, but personally I would prefer to have a dedicated wheel building/truing stand.

I have a Minoura Workman Pro, very good value for money and plenty sturdy enough. I ruled out the cheap(ish) Park TS8 as the truing gauge is only on one side (though it is still perfectly possible to true a wheel on the TS8). I've built a set of wheels on the Minoura and they're still true, partly down to the care I took I suppose, but I didn't once think "I wish I'd bought product 'x' instead of the Minoura".

There is a second hand park one going for £60 in the classifieds. I tend to just use the one at my LBS0

I'm a Park fan, too. I have their PRS-15 workstand which is fantastic, I also prefer to buy Park tools in general. But with the truing stand, I couldn't see anything at the price point that made we want to choose Park. The TS8 is a pretty rudimentary piece of kit in comparison with the Minoura (and others at a similar price).

Either sell your granny and buy a Park TS-2, or have a look at Roger Musson's site www.wheelpro.co.uk for an great idea for a home-build. I couldn't be arsed and bought a TS-2 :-)0
