As entries are starting to flow in it is a good time to mention the Kent Invicta 100km Grimpeur 1700m of climbing around the North Downs from Otford or the single lap Hilly 50km on the same day 850m of climbing.
Both starting at Otford Church Hall opposite the Bull pub. I reccomend the great value of the 100km ride, buy one lap get the second one free.
[edit] Now a Google Map drawn of one lap.

That looks seriously hard work. I live in the area and go up York Hill to work each day, in the car mind you.
The Mote road section up past Ightam mote is very picturesque as is the Sevenoaks Weald section but again I wouldn't fancy doing them all on one tour!0 -
Anyone on here going to do this. I may give it a go, not from the area so how tough is it. I have been off training for a few months!0

The 50km has 850m of climbing and the 100km has 1700m of climbing.
The hills are short and sharp mostly 1 in 6 with two of them 1 in 4.
For training head out in to those hills near Peene, Lyming and Etchinghill.
That hill up from the lights near the Hythe light railway cafe would be good training.

The 100km is useful as training for the Flanders sportive the following month.0

Sounds ok then. I do a lot of rides round Hythe, Lyminge and route 17 to Canterbury. I will go for the short option though as it will be my first entry into any thing like this.0

Thanks guys. There is no mention of the one lap 50k. I assume I just need to make a note on the form. Will the 50k be timed?0

Hi Cyclingpunk
here is a link for the 50km entry form
http://www.aukweb.net/forms/entryform9.php?Ride=09-189
the 50km hilly is timed as well both are BP events so they have the more relaxed minimum speed limit of 12km/h to a max of 25km/h
