Sram X0 Is it worth it?

Currently I use a x9 rear mech on my ransom and I'm considering changing it to a X0 since it has gone down in price . Is it worth the upgrade or are the reviews true about it being more fragile than the X9?

I have to agree with supersonic - it is not worth the extra £100 to upgrade
The only difference between the X0 and the X9 is the carbon casing, all the internals are exactly the same...................................................................................................

In a word - No.
X0, like most XTR parts, are for weight weenies and rich folk.
Stick with what you have.

I know 2 people who have trashed an XO rear mech.
Both replaced it with an X9.Stumpjumper FSR 09/10 Pro Carbon, Genesis Vapour CX20 ('17)Carbon, Rose Xeon CW3000 '14, Raleigh R50

what is the shifter?"Do not follow where the path may lead, Go instead where there is no path, and Leave a Trail."

I have the X0 (bought from the States via Ebay when the $->£ made it worthwhile) on my Stumpy. Have the X9's on my SX, and partly on my Rockhopper.
The X0's are a great piece of kit. Beautiful to look at, but, hidden under the reservoir's of my Juicys. The lever is adjustable (being able to move it around on the pivot), which it isn't on the X9's.
I'd say that the X0's are ever so slightly slicker that my X9's. Now, that could be me self-justifying their cost. Or, could be the difference in the inner/outer cables between my bikes. Or, even on the differing cable routes between my bikes.
Would I buy them again? Or, at UK prices?
Heck no. The X9's are near-as-dammit the same. I'd save my money, and drink the difference.
Avid: if you are reading. Shame on you for not including the Matchmakers in with the X0's. Shame on you.Stumpy, Rockhopper (stolen!) & custom SX Trail II - that should do it!0 -

pointless going for the X0 mech then. as it is the lever that gives the main "feel"."Do not follow where the path may lead, Go instead where there is no path, and Leave a Trail."
