Best occasional use maintenance stand

Am looking for a stand to use in the garage to mean I don't have to flex my back too much when working on the bike.
I know you can get really good stands that are "Pro" quality, but I am looking for something that will get occasional use - so around the £100 mark.
What can you recommend?

Any good - seems a good price with the tool kit - and got 10/10 in cycling plus?
Anyone use it?

Got the first one an is perfect for occasional use. Height adjustable and fairly stable. For maintenance of a few bikes as a hobbyist you really don`t need to spend any more.

That looks pretty decent... I have one of the Minouras that Merlin sells and it's been excellent, the W-3100, £50 from Halfords... But doesn't come with the tools.Uncompromising extremist0

When was that Halfords offer?
Am not too fussed on the tools as I have a fairly good toolkit, just need the odd tool.
£50 is half price on that stand!0 -
Got this for xmas....

I'm well pleased with it!
Rock solid and folds away fairly easily. Highly recommended!

It wasn't marked as on offer, just their standard price in my local. But most shops don't seem to carry them so maybe it was a clear-out, I'm not sure.Uncompromising extremist0

I'd go for the Minoura you listed in your first reply to yourself.
The clamp design on the Minoura is excellent and much better than the other options you are looking at.
The clamp design will be the thing you notice about the workstand in the long run and the Minoura's is a work of genius. Just be a bit wary of how small the stand collapses to for storage if that is an issue.0 -
Sorry to hijack.
I was looking for a cheap stand, mainly to clean and lube my bike.
Would the stand rust if you started washing your bike on it?
Thanks0 -

I have the one from Merlin and it is fine, stable and easy to use, and no it does not rust when you use it hold the bike with no wheels on to wash it properly.0

Halfords only apparently stock their own BikeHut ones now at £84.99 - will pop in and have a look at it today.0

I got the Park Tool PCS-10 for Christmas/birthday, have to say it is of exceptional quality. If a hundred quid is what you were looking up to, I can't recommend it highly enough. It will easily outlast the life of my bike!
Doing only a quick search, CRC have it for £99.99Sink the eight ball. Buy the lady a drink. And nobody knows my name.0 -
I got this one for my birthday in october, http://www.wiggle.co.uk/p/Cycle/7/LifeLine_Spin_Doctor_Deluxe_Workstand/5360009217/ and it does the job fine. I've seen a few people on here say part of it broke, but maybe I'm just more careful with it. I've had no probs. Not sure it's strong or stable enough to have the bike at funny angles, but it's fine for upright.
I'm now waiting for milkywhite to take the p1ss and say that I don't need a workstand to just spray the chain with GT85!Boardman Road Comp '08

Made one out of 3X2 a few years ago and worked fine, simmilar to a gallows that fixed into the large vice on my bench, even made the clamp out of timber and threaded bar.
Only drawback was it had to stay indoors so no good for cleaning down outside.
Considering buying a fold up stand now, fed up of leaning bike against bin, car, van, dog, children or anything else thats static.0 -
Bought the BikeHut one for £78(ish) - its pretty good - sturdy and stable.
Have had my Stumpy on it all afternoon fiddling and cleaning0
