Hello, i am currently changing my brake pads on the M4 disc brake. how do you get the new R clip back on the retaining pin? it seems impossible. any help on this matter would be great. i dont even know which end to put on. the curvy or the straight!

I have sat here trying how to describe the process for putting on the clip for the past 10 minutes. It has stumped me.

start by pushing the end at the centre of the clip through the hole in the end of the retaining pin.

then twist the clip, spring, R clip whatever you call it until it engages fully on the pin.

    AHHHH I give up.

I'm off to look on the Hope site at the Vids.

My M4 springy looped clip thing pinged away and was lost forever. I spent the best part of an hour with a magnet in the grass trying to find it. I'm thinking of geting a thin bit of wire, slotting it through the retaining pin's hole and twisting it up. should do the job. I think wire from a paper clip might be a bit thick though. Might need to raid the kitchen for a sandwich bag type wire twisty thing. Only replacement pads from Hope seem to come with new springy clips.
