Never did this but did do the Gavia from Ponte Legno and the Mortirolo in a day....I can tell you that the Gavia is a very very tough climb...you' already have done a big long shallow grad of a climb upto Ponte Legno...the Gavia starts with very steep sections through the initial forested area...its continues on at a serious gradient for its entire length and steepens heavily at the tunnel and the top hairpins...17.5Kms at 8% avg aint never going to be easy....but its the most beautiful climb Ive ever did...then you'll do a brillinat descent all the way down to Bormio...you'll head down to Mazzo via a few backroads (we encountered a medium graded 300meter climbs here)...now by the time you reach the Mortirolo your gonna have sore legs...well get used to it...and prepare yourself for 12kms of neverending steepness...very little breaks can be acheived on the hairpins as they are so steep....we did this brute before the Gavia and Im very glad as I was in my triple 30x27 for near its entire length and it was tough enough feeling fairly fresh.....so after the Gavia its going to be brutal.....good luck!...after this Ive been informed you have another feircely steep climb to encounter before it ends.....get in touch with AndyP from this forum...Im sure he has did it.......these climbs are much Tougher than the Glandon,Galibier or Alpe De Huez....

Whilst your there why not bag the incredible Stelvio aswell?....and the Foscagno there for the taking aswell.

As my brother Richy above says it will be a hard day in the saddle as the Gavia and Mortirolo are a very difficult combination to do in one day and I suffered BIG time on the Gavia after being up the Mortirolo.

Try this link for an earlier post. Good Luck
