Safe to cycle with flu?

I've had flu once in 51 years. In bed for a week, off work for a second week, and a further 2 months before I could breathe in without coughing. Absolutely no danger of riding a bike in all that time.
Think yourself lucky you only have a bad cold, but if you start training again while you're recovering you could end up with a proper chest infection which will take much longer to clear.
Strange behaviour from your GP though. I often go in with a shopping list of ailments.0 -
Maybe it's because I never said about the sleep trouble when I booked the appointment with the receptionist?
It's so annoying as I have a shopping list of things I want to get sorted but I'd rather just see if they go by themselves if the GP is going to be on this behavior all the time then0 -
you may be able to ask for a longer appointment or a double appointment if there are a few things you would like dealt with? try asking the receptionist, although i hear that they are not legendary for their understanding attitudes but i think you can ask for that rather than the gp run over their alloted time for a standard appointment.
sorry if i was unclear before
flu will floor you completely i have only experienced this once and i don't fancy repeating it.
a cold wont but if you don't take care an upper respiratory infection can worsen significantly so take it easy initially, go back qently and trust your instinct not your fighting spirit.0 -

Non-understanding doctors receptionist? Surely not?
It's one of pet hates, they are the nosiest people in the world and do not know the meaning of confidentiality - I find if I tell them that my penis has swollen and gone green (or similar) they stop asking questionsCarlsberg don't make cycle clothing, but if they did it would probably still not be as good as Assos0 -
