First fall :-(

I came off my bike on black ice this morning
First time I've fallen off in 3 years so I guess it had to happen sometime. Luckily there was no traffic about so I have escaped with a couple of bruises that look like they might be right beasts in a couple of hours!
Most annoying thing is that this adds fuel to the 'ooh are you sure you're safe out there?' line of questioning I get from my dear Mother and other half. Grrr.

Tell them you did it playing elephant polo, then they will prevent you from playing elephant polo, which shouldn't be a problem.0

I nearly went over today, i'd been getting complacent over the main roads being ice-free and it being a bit milder this morning. Big queue for the lights so i darted off sharpish down a side street, round the corner and my back wheel nearly went from under me.
Hope you and the bike heal quickly0 -
Well the past few days it's been a bit icy so I thought I'd play it safe (wimp out) and get the bus into work. Guess what... I slipped over walking on the pavement and landed on my arse. Walking on ice is dangerous too! I wonder if I'd taken the bike to work I wouldn't've slipped because at least they grit the roads round here (with pavements left covered in sheet ice).Bianchi Via Nirone Veloce/Centaur 20100
