What will your DH riding involve?0

willing to spend around the £500
and i want to ride abit of trails, and some dirt jump.
see, i used to bmx last year and did for 3 years, so ive got bike control etc and i wont be learning from scratch, just something bigger knew loads about bmx, nothing about mtb :?0 -
HT... you wont get a DH full sus for £500.
For dirt jumps you could get a DMR Reptoid, a sort of "grown up" bmx but it will be sh*te on trails as its single speed...its not what its made for.
or a bit of both world would be something like the Kona Shred However i still believe most kona's are under specked and overpriced. (2007 Kona Shred)0 -
Is your downhill riding Downhill with a capital, or just down a hill? I think your budget makes the decision, the closest thing to a decent £500 full suss is the carrera banshee and it's really no good for Downhill with a capital. Though since it's made of lead, it's ideally suited to going downhill without a capital. I imagine it might just be the worst dirt jump bike you could possibly buy though, since it'd take rocket boosters to get one into the air.Uncompromising extremist0

The Cromo only has one gear, as does the DMR. Shred is more of a hardcore hartail/jumpbike than a pure jumper. Tempest a geared jump bike.
Any local stocks so you can go and see them?0 -
yeah there are a few local shops like evans and independent ones. i know a decent shop near me that specialises in mtb. cheers for the help all, much appreciated.0
