So what's a "Reliability Ride" :?:
Reliability rides are traditional early season non-competitive training events similar to an Audax ride in format. At signing-on, you decide how long it will take you to ride around the course, and if you complete the event within your chosen time band, you receive a certificate. Some of the rides are route-marked, others will provide you with a route sheet to navigate yourself around the course.

Are all of these rides turn up on the day and pay (and if so, how much?). Which ones are route-marked (don't know my way around that area so great!).
Cheers0 -
Yes, they are all turn up and pay on the morning. Cost varies but is normally around £5, although I think Harp RC are possibly charging £10 and making a donation to charity.
The only one I know for sure to be route marked is the CC Luton event.0 -
I've ridden the full set over the years. Always marked or flagged, or else get in a bunch with someone who knows the route
Are the Quest Boys sending us up Juniper Hill again :?: :shock:0 -
Talking to Paul at Quest the other day he was thinking of sending everybody around the other way so you can all go down Juniper Hill!0
-
definitely up for these – are they relatively easy to get to by the ol' choo-choo express?point your handlebars towards the heavens and sweat like you're in hell0
-
Cool, looks like I'll be there for a few of these then0
-
The ones that start in Ickenham are a few hundred yards from the Ickenham Metropolitan Line Tube station. Denham is a couple of miles from the Uxbridge Tube station - if that helps!0

Closest station for CC Luton's is Cheddington or Tring on the Euston-MK line - about 6 miles to the HQ.0 -
-
I will be riding a few of these rides later on (will miss the first couple). See you guys there!0

Did the Luton one last year and hope to do the Harp and Hemel ones too, depending on the weather. It'll be 'go' if the overnight temp is not below 3 degC and the risk of icy roads that these early morning starts can bring.
CORRECTION
Map of the Harp route: http://www.btinternet.com/~bryan_hutt/HHHRoute.htm
Looks like it changed last year.0 -
Bump...................first one this Sunday 8) ...........and I've got the lurgi so probably won't make it. :twisted:0
-
If it's as wet as expected does everyone have to have mudguards on?0
-
You don't have to have them....................but you'll make more friends if you do have them fitted.0
-
I have posted the route for the Quest ride today on behalf of Paul at The Bike Shop:
http://www.bikeradar.com/routes/?bpath= ... -Ride-20090 -
Not surprisinly, the Hemel event scheduled for this Sunday is CANCELLED due to the weather. Some of the lanes it uses have been closed to traffic since Monday due to the snowfall.
Fingers crossed for next Sunday's event.0 -
