I want to fit a bigger front brake to my bike, current brake is a 160mm Juicy 3. To go up to 185mm, is it just a case of fitting a new adaptor and rotor or is the calliper different ?

There are the parts I’m looking at getting:

depends on the fork, but essentially yes, assuming your fork has an IS mount.

Some forks say in their blurb not to use a rotor bigger than 160/165mm because they can break.

Fork is a Rockshox Recon SL with IS mounts. Blurb says don't fit a disk bigger than 203mm but that's a bit of overkill for what I do.
  • That will be fine. Use threadlocker on the bolts if they aren't already patched. I did a similar upgrade on my LX's and was very happy with the result. More power but more importantly more control and better feel.
