The solution to bike theft

I recently discovered the ultimate way to ensure you can commute and not have to worry about your bike or its bits and bobs being stolen - get a FOLDING bike and keep it indoors!

Is that brilliant or what? I shall get one myself. Even going to a cafe to meet friends, you can pack it up and keep it at your side, it's nothing more than a slightly big bag. It's just a lot better than leaving your bike at the mercy of London or any similar city. Oxford too - I remember I had a bike nicked just weeks after I bought it. Sod's law, eh?

I was at Waterloo station yesterday evening and I was heartened to see the number of people with folders.

There's no shame in riding a folder except the actual shame of riding a folder

Ahem... Oi! You so didn't.

It was bloomin' hilarious I tell you - a compact fellow - Bassjunkie - zips past on a roadie followed by cp on a brompton! Benny hill theme immediately jumped into my head, and I suddenly understood why bromptons are referred to as clown bikes...

You wouldn't catch me riding a folding bike.

    I haven't got one, see.

They're blooming expensive though... well Bromptons are, and you've gotta have a Brompton surely.

i've had the odd problem sneaking a less than compact airnimal into pubs and cafe's but generally there is a space somewhere to park it.

because of its folded size you do get some evil looks when moving it around, but at least i don't have to worry about the thing getting nicked! if they tried they'd be unable to reassmble it anyway

    Public execution for bike thieves...

Cheaper than buying a folder. I'll build the gallows myself for free

I've always thought the solution is in high capacity capacitors.
The problem is they only work once per charge.
So if anyone tries to nick the bike while the paramedics are dealing with the first theif it's going.
    Do Nellyphants count?
