Hi.
Anyone got any ideas? I decided not to buy a bike mount and want to make something so it'll fit on my handlebars, tie wraps alone are no good as it moves.
any ideas?
thanks
will.

Here's your answer - the Twofish Lockblock:

I got the 3 pack for US$16 with free shipping.
Simple and effective.0 -
I don't want to buy anything else though!!!!0

oops, must read more carefully
Even if you don't buy one, have a look at the lockblock because the principle might be useful for making your own, as it's such a simple device - a piece of rubber and two straps. Otherwise, I guess I'd look at modifying an existing/surplus light/lock/pump mount to take the torch.0 -
Get an old bike light handle bar mount.
Place light along said mount. You may want to wrap a bit of tube or something around the light first to hold it steady etc.
Cable tie (two will do) over the light and thru the mounting ring.
Pull tight.
Fix to bike in the normal way. Light can be removed easily and batteries can be replaced easily too.

Damn why did I not think of that , I have a mount almost exactly like that.
I went and ordered a twofish lockblock from the site lateralus linked to, but apparently it takes 10 days which means I wont have it for a month
How long did it take to get to you lateralus?0 -
I have one of the tesco ceed lights which I understand is a similar size. After trying a few different free mounts which consisted of old inner tube and cable ties I realised I needed somthing a bit better. I found that a couple of old relfector/ light mounts joined together work very well and look ok.
Take the bit that goes around the seat post/ handlebars, remove any unwanted stuff so you are just left with a P shaped clip, get another one and join the two together with the original nut and bolt, the seatpost clamp bit fitted around the light quite and the other end is fits around the handle bars.
The good bit is that it is adjustable both up and down plus side to side.
I will try and get some pictures tomorrow.Sunday September Ultegra SL

I don't remember for sure, but I don't recall it being long enough to get seriously impatient. Around a week to 10 days.0 -

That would be useful. I'm currently using an old innertube with the tesco cree torch, but the rattling is driving me mad.________________________________

Here is what I was trying to descibe for my mount for a tesco Cree light. As I said it is really stable and adjusted every which way. The inner tube aound it is for a bit more protection for the light and bike.

you could black tape a couple of cable ties to the bars.
Personally, I'm a lockblock man.0
