West Lothian Clarion who formed as a club after members started posting on a thread in the group rides and sportive section, have just launched their new website, if you've got time why not take a look:

Hats off to you - that's brilliant that you got together from the thread on sportives section and now have your own club!
I hope it's a great success for you all

Good to see that people still can be bothered to form clubs, but are you a proper 'Clarion' club? If I met you going in the opposite direction and shouted 'boots' to you, what would be the answer? See, you've got to know the secret 'hand shakes'.

    Boots to you all!
    Thanks for the comments.
Yep, we're proper Clarion - a few of us (well 2!) are even going to cycling from Scotland down to Manchester to attend the Claron's easter meet. - on 70" fixed too

Sirius - Its not that difficult to set up a club - We've made small steps forward over the last year. We became a clarion section because it was a simple and easy process - the Clarion is already affiliated to the relevant bodies so in the first year when we didn't have much cash it made sense.

In our second year we've managed to get 30 members and have built up enough funds to affiliate independently. The Clarion also loaned us some cash to buy TT equipment like numbers, signs and stop watches.

    Spurs!

  • Well done guys.

Great website, and it looks as though you've got a really good setup, especially as there are only 30 of you !

Looking at what you've got on offer, it won't be long before that 30 grows considerably.

I reckon there's a good few clubs out there who can learn a thing or two from your good selves.

    Keep up the good work.

    Cheers
