I had a front wheel built up by Bristol Bike Workshop - I thought it was a good build, and also several chats with the mechanics in there about various projects gave me a good deal of confidence in them. Other plus points are that they are a workshop more than a shop so repairs/builds are their bread and butter, and they're very cheap IMO, and friendly too.
They're on Colston Street up near the junction by BRI.
*Edit - they were also quite insistent that I bring it back after a couple of weeks so that they could check tension!0 -
I've not had to visit a wheel builder but you could try Terry's over in Yate. I've had them service one of my bike recently and I was really impressed, not sure whether they do wheel building. Their shop is more like someone converted their front room to a bike shop...which I really like in a weird kind of way0

I had a set of wheels built by Mac at Terry's when he used to work there - he may still do the odd wheel for them. They have a couple of excellent mechanics there and should be absolutely fine.
You should learn to build your own of course..0 -
Mac sold out some time ago and think he has removed himself totally from the cycle trade. A good bloke with good knowledge.I've added a signature to prove it is still possible.0

Go and speak to Mike in Strada cycles in Southville, he'll sort you out no problem.
Tell him Jesse sent you (not that it'll do you any good)Obsessed is a word used by the lazy to describe the dedicated!0 -
