My 1st Bike (Much Shorter Version)

Ok the 1st post was really too long. Sorry :-(

In short I should be getting a Rockhoper Disc Comp (09)
I tested a GT Avalanche 1.0 Disc (08) and prefered the Rockhopper.

Is the (09) GT much different and worth a ride.

I'm a spesh fan, so would say go with the RockHopper , but if your LBS has the GT in stock, it can't hurt to look.

Personally, I would look at a Boardman Comp 08:

Or, an 08 non-disc RockHopper from here:

And spend another £100-150 on some disc brakes. Something like these:

You would have a better specced bike for less money. The Fork on the 09 RockHopper is awful in comparison to the 08.[/url]

Yeah, the 09 Rockhoppers are terrible buys just now, worse than the 08s and more expensive... That's progress
