Just signed up for my earliest sportive of the year...the Richmond 5 Dales...held on Saturday 23rd May...online entry for a thumpingly cheap £15 :-

https://www.sportident.co.uk/entries/ev ... ent_id=171

This is gonna be a smashing sportive for May....Starting off with the Stang, then over Tan Hill, before kamikaze plunge of Lams Moss and then the drag up Mallerstang and onto the final 2 brutes...Fleetmoss from Hawes followed by the infamous 33% Park Rash...those who want a excellently affordable sportive then look no further...3 distance routes to choose from....also those who are going to be dissapointed with the FWC and want another similarly tester in May then this is the one and save yourself £25 :D

It looks like a great route. I've signed up instead of doing the Fred Whitton. Park Rash has been on my to do list for a while now!

My favourite ride in this country from last year, although the cross wind on the drop into Nateby nearly had me off the road.

Highly recommended in some of the most beautiful parts of the country.
  • Missed on the FWC, and it is the weekend after an exam too....

...taking things gently, so gone for the 80 mile route.

That makes 4 sportives now planned for the year so far.......
