Custom frame

I am thinking about getting a custom frame made, in either steel, titanium or carbon fiber.
The intention is that I end up with a highend singlespeed.
Essentially a filthy bit of bike porn on which I can put stupidly highend components and then attempt to squash them under my 15 stone of cyclist.
I have looked at Mercian, Lynskey, Setavento (bust in 2007) although their site still exists.....
Can anyone reccomend any others - ideally they should be UK based as I suspect that might make things a bit easier.
Thanks.

Try Enigma - their service was superb when I bought off them In October. Jim Walker was a pleasure to deal with.Carlsberg don't make cycle clothing, but if they did it would probably still not be as good as Assos0

Go to Condor Cycles... they'll build you a made to measure quailty bike, in the material of your choice.
I opted for the Diamante last year, it's a dream to ride.

Recommend Chas Roberts: http://www.robertscycles.com/prices.html
Track frame, lugged, drilled for brakes circa £790
Good enough for Tony Doyle MBE !Common sense in an uncommon degree is what the world calls wisdom0 -
Argos.................0

Some interesting suggestions.
Condor have a titanium singlespeed at £1600 which is a bit pricey for me..
I am sure Chas Roberts would build an audaxey stype single speed, Argos is worth a poke around and enigma also look interesting.
I think I am going to enjoy choosing as much as I enjoy riding this one!0 -
XACD in China if you want Ti - and are confident that you can spec it accurately. Or if you have MUCH money and even more patience Matt Chester.d.j.

If Trevor Jarvis is still making "Flying Gate" frames then that would be my choice in good old unfashionable steel with custom lugs. It would be different from all the others on the block and quite probably a real flyer. Pity I don't have the money to support my plan!

looks different that is for sure.....not sure if it is my cup of tea!0 -
For a 'budget' custom I'd go XACD without a doubt - after a proper fitting session though to get the ideal dimensions. Otherwise, down the south-east, it'd have to be a Roberts.0

Whenever I fall off, I get sarky comments from my colleagues along those lines.....0 -
I had a custom Bob Jackson bike made up out of 953 steel - and it's been an absolute revelation. I'm sure a lot of that is down to the measurements being exactly right for me and all the compontentry carefully chosen. But a lot of is certainly down to it being an enormously sexy, lightweight steel frame. Can't fault it at all
Not the sort of build you can rush, mind...'07 Langster (dropped one tooth from standard gearing)
'07 Tricross Sport with rack and guards
STUNNING custom 953 Bob Jackson *sigh*0 -
Justin Burls does a nice Ti ss (go to www.hubjub.co.uk). Condor of course or Serotta could do the Singolo. Matt Chester is supposed to be excellent and I'm sure P.Hewitt or Bob Jackson or Brian Rourke could provide something.M.Rushton0

Not heard of Burls, but I've now visited their site, oh my............................0
