Carrera Fury or Boardman Comp

Hi there...
I realise this sort of thing probably gets asked a lot and I've used the search function. There appears to be a lot of praise of the Fury but I can't really find anything definative about the boardman comp! Just wondering if anyone has an opinion on which would be a better choice. The boardman appears to be a better spec for only £70 more but I'm not particularly clued up on what to be looking for!
thanks in advance!!

Boardman - An MTB designed by a roadie...nuff said.
Not that there's anything wrong with us roadie's, just, well, you know...we don't do dirt.jedster wrote:Just off to contemplate my own mortality and inevitable descent into decrepedness.
FCN 8 off road because I'm too old to go racing around.0 -
Perhaps I'm naive about the resources available to cycle manufacturers, but I'd assume Chris Boardman's company had recruited an MTB specialist or two.0

If you check out the reviews that the MTB mags have given it - in fact all the reviews I've seen for all disciplines have been pretty stunning. I'm tempted myself - and i dont 'need' one....0

I was just inspired by this thread to check out the website and the FS bikes look really tasty.
The £1k and 1.3k models have a Reba with Maxle - can't think of any other company that's speccing that as standard - shows they really know their onions.0 -

His name's on the top tube, doesn't mean he designed it My bike wasn't made by Mr On One... It's a branding exercise only.Uncompromising extremist0 -
same with carrera, they dont make their frames. Merida do0

Do they do all the frames? I knew they did the carbon ones but I wasn't sure about the cheaper ones.Uncompromising extremist0

Cheaper ones certainly used to be.
Either way, still about the best frames at each price point.0 -
I posted a similar question a while back and bought the Fury and I am very happy with it.
Buy it and use the cash saved to get some gear ( if you dont have any ?) and get out there.
Was out for 2 hours this morning in sub zero temps0 -
thanks for the help guys. my gut is to go with boardman for tart factor but head is saying fury for sensibleness!!
Descisions descisions!!!
knowing my luck at this rate both will sell out before I make my mind up!!0
