I recently snapped my rear mech hanger and replaced it with a new one like for like and thought that it would be ok.
However they slip on the cassette when i select the middle chainring but this only happens when i put alot of pessure on the peddles .

Could it be the new chain i treated myself too ?

PLEASE HELP AS I WANT TO RIDE TOMORROW BUT ITS DRIVE ME MAD AND HAVE RUN OUT OF IDEAS

Many thanks

could be poor set up. could be a worn cassette, could be a worn cranks set.

    Where is the chain slipping?

is it really slipping or is the freebody gone?

  • Only seems to on middle sprockets when in middle chainring , doesn't seem to to be the freebody

How did you snap the hanger? You might've bent the mech slightly. Have you reindexed the rear mech since replacing the hanger?

How old is the cassette, and how old was teh chain that was on it?
  • I snapped the mech hanger by supidly going granny ring / big chainring.

The cassette is on its last legs i must admit . The Chain and cassette got eaten by the mud at dusk til dawn

Chains and cassettes wear together,if the chain has been on a long time, chances are you'll need a new cassette also.I generally change the chain 2 or 3 times a year to avoid this.
