You have to say when you go to the trouble of setting up exclusive deals meaning that you are the only place that people can get bikes from you should at least try and make sure you stay on top of supply0 -
A lot of items sold by Wiggle seem to have a stock level of zero. People are just going to turn to other stores ......0

Well they lost a bike sale from me.
Had they had stock of the 09 range i would have purchased one last week.
For other things they still give a good service. Just check the prices though0 -

i emailed them the other day to ask when they were going to get stock.
They could not give any dates and it seems they only get the bikes when Focus can be a*sed to send them0 -
I don't know what it is, maybe cashflow probs with the recession, but I've noticed this on more online retailers recently. CRC has lost a few sales from me because they didn't have stock in either. Mainly tools. I've found ribble, curiously given their past reputation, to generally have things in stock when I want them and their prices are pretty good too though the website is very clunky but I guess I can put with that.0

There is no way the reccesion would affect Wiggle in that way, if anything it is the sheer amount of people buying stuff from them rather than places such as ribble as Wiggle is much more well known. as for the 2009 bikes who knows?Carbon fibre, it's all nonsense. Drink beer. Ride a steel bike. Don't be a ponce.0

actually, the recession is hitting the supply chain - unless you're cash rich, most stock is funded on credit which is now much harder to get. Also, insurance companies providing cover on trade finance (i.e. goods provided by suppliers on credit) have hiked premiums and withdrawn cover on a number of companies, including highstreet names, making it much more difficult to source goods. No idea if any of this is the case with Wiggle though."And the Lord said unto Cain, 'where is Abel thy brother?' And he said, 'I know not: I dropped him on the climb up to the motorway bridge'."

I'm in the process of ordering some Vittoria Evo CGs and some new kit for my hardtail and the sheer volume of stuff that is Not in Stock/Discontinued/Available to order (expected in stock....) is rather vast.0

I recon its to do with the pound to euro exchange rate - retailers and wholesalers are not importing stock due to the weak pound - they are trying to wait until the pound strengthens so the product price will be competitive.
In the meantine - stock is running out... just wait until new stock arrives, I'm guessing some hefty prices hikes are around the corner!0 -
I was planning to buy a Kiron Scandium from Wiggle, but the site now states that the 58 has been discontinued! They've only just brought it out!!
Done the same as NW Londoner and gone over to Planet X.
Wiggle have been great when stuff is in stock tho.
This has made me wonder what really is going on...Mens agitat molem0 -

I agree very strange but Wiggle have a hell of a lot of out of stock items. CRC are the same.
I had to hunt high and low to source a full SRAM Force kit.0 -

Yeah, good point - although you'd hope they'd have hedged out some of the exchange rate risk!"And the Lord said unto Cain, 'where is Abel thy brother?' And he said, 'I know not: I dropped him on the climb up to the motorway bridge'."

Has anyone actually thought about the fact that maybe these companies suppliers have only returned to work today? This would explain the 'out of stock' message....as for discontinued....Happy new Year and no more clues from me with regards to 08 products saying 'no longer available'.
I got a great book for Xmas though, Al Murray's the Pub Landlord's Book of common sense, it's a great read.....0 -

Sterling is weak and is likely to remain weak for sometime therefore there's no point in holding off really, if anything that makes things worse.0 -

So, Christmas / NY period off for retailers? "What the heck, we know sales are going to be crap anyway"? Sounds a bit punchy to me..."And the Lord said unto Cain, 'where is Abel thy brother?' And he said, 'I know not: I dropped him on the climb up to the motorway bridge'."

I am not saying the retailers, I am saying their suppliers....
I have worked in retail and it annoys me when you get the crap when it is down to the actual supplier, who are often closed during the festive season and get longer breaks than the retailer (glad I am no longer in retail!).0 -

I know what you mean - our suppliers in Italy close for the whole August - now that's a holiday I want :shock:0 -
holy mother have you seen the price hike.
A 2009 Culebro was under £900 with my platinum discount last week. Now it is £1034.10!!!0
