I would like to do a mountain bike maintenance course in Notts, could you tell me where & which course would be most suitable to do with a recognised qualification at the end of it please ?
Many thanx for looking,
DJ Norman

looked in the tech links? courses listed there.

And it all depends what you want it for.

    Just to save another thread,

I'm also looking for an MTB Maintenance course to go on. I'm 15 so it's just a kind of "home mechanic" type thing i'm looking for.

    Cheers,

    Matt,

You will learn quite a lot working on your own bike, the park tools guides are very good.

I've never bothered with any training courses, all I know is from what I've read and done. A methodical approach helps a great deal, espiecially when taking apart forks.

Once you've turned 16, look for a job in a bike shop, as you learn a lot working with experienced mechanics.

  • Reason id like to do a course is that im un able to ride as much as would like :x and would love to carry on working with bikes and wanting some qualification behind me 8) , So its not just what iv learnt over years my self on my bike :? . i want to do good corect job . The reason id like to go down this road is that in notts there are no mecanics that dont charge alot of £££££ and need time to book in even just to repair a punctuer  which when asked local bike shop was mid jan and min cost of £20.00+ parts  if any thing found to be wrong. i bilive there should be a place to acomodate kids - onwards with new tecknical bikes to have some where to go with a small problem. What couses do people recomend out there that will help me pass on my vast experiance.
