Please can someone advise me?? The last bike I had was a chopper when I was 10! My mother bought me a bike last year which I rode for 50 meters. It was a womans bike with a basket and so many gears I just could not do it. I want a mountain type bike that is easy to ride with no more than 6 gears. I have quite bad back problems so I would like a really light one and something that when I slip I do not castrait myself! (which is what I did with the bike my mom bought me  ) My 6 & 7 year old are now riding bikes and I would really like to do it with them without being terrified as I am only 5 foot so a childs type bike would be fine! Please please help I do not want to spend more than £200

The Carrera Subway 1 from Halfords is good value and pretty simple. I ride one to work 100 miles a week and have no real troube. It also only has seven gears a the back, though it does have a double up front meaning it has 14 gears.
To get something really simple then go for hub gears - the model two up from the above mentioend Carrera ('Subway 8' I think) from Halfords has them though I think its closer to 300 quid.0
