I've been looking at a few full suspension bikes and have narrowed down to a few but what do people think about a 2008 gt force 1 against a 2008/2009 specialized fsr pitch pro

Bike of the year on this site:
http://www.bikeradar.com/gear/category/bikes/mountain/product/pitch-pro-08-28147
And scores 10/10 in the latest MBR.
I'd go for the Pitch, as long as it fits you and is comfortable.Boardman Road Comp '08
Spesh FSR XC Expert '080 -
Pitch is getting all the press at the minute (and rightly so), but the GT Force 1.0 at that price is an incredible bargain! Lighter, better spec, and IMHO better suspension as the Idrive system climbs and pedals better than any FSR, and the rearward tilt at the start of the action sucks up sharp bumps brilliantly. Angles are a bit steeper than a pitch, but this translates into snappier handling.0

Nice to see your mature attitude...may I sugest if you don't have anything constructive to say then say nothing. I'm sure we have all made mistakes when looking at websites etc, no need to be rude to people.0 -

BTW you could get the comp for 782 with that discount code - but it runs out tomorrow at 9am. SMPU - perhaps check your facts first before having a go at people. No need to be rude even if I had got it wrong though. Is someone maybe upset that they just bought a Pitch for a higher price? :P0

Are you a bunch of girls or what? Jeez.
Does this make it better?
That's the comp numbnuts
I am tad annoyed they had it for under a grand and I am glad they don't now! List price is 1400 after all and its still a current model 08/09 unchanged. I KNOW Spesh would not be impressed either. I paid 1260, 10% off by paying cash.
I saw that Reign 1 at Paus Cycles.. not that is one hella bargain. nigh on 700 notes off!
The Reign and the Pitch are very similar, incestuous brother and sister really since it was likely Giant who made the Pitch..0 -
Not really offended just you made yourself look a bit of a tool is all - especially seeing as you were wrong. :P Dunno how long ago you got your Pitch but the RRP now seems to be 1175 - think they are selling off all the ones in 2008 colours for a bit cheaper before bringing out the new ones. I got mine on cyclescheme plus got 140 quids worth of spesh goodies so nearly as good as the Dales deal anyway.0

There isn't going to be a new Pitch for 2009. The 08 Pitch is identical to the 09 Pitch. The 08's ARE 09's. Sure the Pitch in the LBS may have been sitting there since 2008, in which case you can haggle off a tad more than 10% maybe cos it has endured the odd ride round the car park by the odd grubby tire kicker and/or the odd blemish from the showroom floor.
RRP is £1400 for 08 and 09. I reckon next year's will be more cos of the crap pound and strong dollar..
I haggled 10% off for cash on an 08 four months back.0 -
There is a 2009 Pitch - though it seems to be pretty much the same apart from new colours - its available in Europe and the US, but not here yet.0

I must admit I am confused. Cyclestore uk now has them at a lower price than everyone else, claiming lower rrp.. yet blue and brown still listed as 2009.. and yet Spesh's website has red, clear, and black colours..... how confusing.
I paid £1260 for the brown one so hopefully not a stupid move. Could have got it cheaper but went for the LBS option. I buy bits online but prefer to buy the bike local.0 -

If it doesn't move and should, use the WD40.
If it shouldn't move and does, use the tape.0 -
The only thing that bugs me about the Pitch is the Silver chainset - black would look sooo much better IMO."Melancholy is incompatible with bicycling." ~James E. Starrs0

I had a nightmare getting my Pitch, with everywhere selling out of Large and horror stories of no more Pitches in 09. After 6 months trying to decide which full sus rig.
Finally got one at Evans , think they had a stash in a drawer somewhere.
Not so cheap but worth every penny for this classic rig. I think the pro is well worth the extra. Better colour too.
get em while their hot.0
