Fitting a chain device

I've just bought a "DaBomb" chain device
http://www.chainreactioncycles.com/Mode ... elID=19414
to fit to my 07 Stinky. Now, the bike comes with 2 rings and a a bash guard. I'm guessing that to fit the chain guide correctly i'll need to remove the inner ring (no probs as i never use it anyway) but what do I do about the bash guard?
Do I remove it then move the middle ring to the outside, (causing alignment issues?)
remove it leave the ring where it is and get some washers to fill the gap where the bolts are,
or leave it where it is.
Looking at it, if I leave the bash guard on, the top guide won't be clsoe enough to the ring and the chain could probabley still slip off.
Advice please!

you have it positione where it gives you the chain line you want."Do not follow where the path may lead, Go instead where there is no path, and Leave a Trail."

which is in the middle.
So, my question still stands, what to do about the bashguard?0 -
use it remove it what ever you want.
but as you have suggested you will need shorter ring bolts or washers if you remove it."Do not follow where the path may lead, Go instead where there is no path, and Leave a Trail."

Cool,
thanks for confirming that for me.0 -
You dont really need a bash ring with that guide, but if you are gonna put it back on(am I right to asume it's the FSA clear bash ring?), it wont fit, you'll need a bash ring with spacers between the bash ring and chain ring, so it will allow the top of the guide to fit between chain and bash rings.
I fitted one to my mates Stinky as he was also having probs. we used a Truvativ bash ring in the end, made espesially for use with that type of guide.
Personally though, I wouldn't use the bash ring.
I'll try to get some pics. of it when I see him next.http://www.bikeradar.com/forums/viewtopic.php?f=10017&t=12851595

Cheers Buzz,
I was thinking that I'd ditch the clear FSA bashring (yes you were correct) and just live with the consequences IF i ever bend a chainriing.
Which, to be honest, how many of us have ever done? I've done 1 in about 9 years.0
