Well you have many to chose from....On your doorstep you have the White Rose Challenge with 3 different routes to suit In June, In July you have the Whie Rose Classic with 3 differnt routes aswell....in May you have the Richmond 5 Dales...near Newcastle you have the Northern Rock Cyclone with 3 different routes to suit aswell....you can find out more data from www.cyclosport.org

You are only a hours drive away from the mighty NY Moors where the Ryedale Rumble is run in August...that has also 3 different routes to suit..... http://ryedalerumble.co.uk/

You are situated in a fantastic area...you have the Yorkshire Dales and NY Moors at your mercy....and the Peak District aint far away!

you can find out all about the Cyclone weekend by going directly to www.northernrockcyclone.co.uk. As already stated there are three rides of 33,62 & 101miles to suite all abilities and ages. If you stay up you for the sunday you can watch the best riders in the country plus some continental teams race over part of the route used for rides B & C. You can also watch the best criterium riders there are in Leazes Park on the friday night.

As Rich says check out the Rydale Rumble, 3 routes to choose from, still in it's infancy so fairly easy to get in. Many others will book up on the same day as they open.

get booked in for something then get yourselfa training plan sorted. having a goal and a bluprint to reach your goal will give you all the motivation you need to get out there in the cold and start pedalling! good luck
