Which Front Mech is Better?

Deore LX M581 or SRAM X-9?

I Know XT etc is better than the X-9 but what about deore / LX etc?

If the SRAM one is better - which is the right one to replace:

Shimano M581 LX, 34.9mm clamp, bottom swing, dual pull

X-9 and XT are about the same level.

I would rate X-9 higher than XT really.

To tell you the truth If you can really tell the difference say between a Deore front mech and an XT I would shake your hand,I have owned both and save money buying the deore

Gonna put the replace the one on my old Saracen - 99 LX mech with current LX from my Stumpy as it's a little worn, and seeing as rear mech is x-9, just about to get x-9 shifters, thought I might go x-9 front mech too.

But which is the right SRAM one to fit - current setup is:

34.9mm clamp, bottom swing, dual pull

IIRC it is multi sized and multi pull.

On CRC they show four different ones -

x-9 front mech isnt multipull - ive recently put one on my ht

Sorry Nicklouse - I know that was an obvious one, but bike was out in the cold garage last night! Will take some pics today and post them up.
