What with all this fixie /SS stuff going on i thought about putting the(geared ) bike in 38/14 ,keeping it in this gear, and trying to pedal non stop ...except for junctions and red lights of course ;on a lumpy 18 mile commute . Will this do me any good ? and will this be as good as a single speed ?

  • Even pedaling non stop, it doesnt prepare you for what a fixie rides like. It would prepare you for the single speed and give you a general feeling for what gear ration you should go for when/if going fixed or ss.
