I'm looking for a light XC frame but don't know which to get. I have heard the floorless reliability of kinesis and the strength of cove but which frame is the best? and are there any other frames on the market worth considering?

for light hardtail action i would recomment the kinesis, either the pro 2 or xc 120 depending on what length fork you wanna use.
tha advantage to the pro 2 is that it has carbon stays which should add to riding comfort whilst retaining good direct drive under power. (look svery cool in white too)0 -

120mm fork what would you recommend?0

in that case it would be an xc120 by kinesis.
bear in mind i always recommed kinesis bikes but have never ridden one, i just know they review well and folk who own them love em. if i was the kind of bloke who rode a hardtail kinesis would be top of my list.0 -
You can't go wrong with the frames (if the geo suits you). You effectively cut out a part of the retail chain as Kinesis make a lot of frames for other people.
Fork would have to be the new Reba.0 -
i'd agree with sonic there, again, ive not ridden one of the new breed of rockshox forks but from the spec sheet it'd be top of my list.0

Kinesis was what I wanted, XC120 or maybe a Pha5e (though that's heavier) but in the end, I found a cheap On One Scandal, which could be another contender- very light scandium framed hardtail, they call it their XC racer but it's overbuilt for strength. I'd give a review if the b*****d thing had turned up yetUncompromising extremist0

Thanks for the advice
I'm interested in the Kinesis as it is a fairly thick frame and looks alot nicer than the other competitors and is the same weight as others such as the on one scandal.
Whats your opinion on the Kinesis Maxlight XC 2
or Kinesis Maxlight XC Pro 2?0 -
Racier bike, not designed for a forl over 100mm.0
