Solo air spacer removal

Hey guys,
My brother got a new bike for Chrimbo with tora 318 solo air forks, which are sadly set to 80mm. I've been reading the sram stuff about servicing the forks but didn't know if there was an easy way to remove the air spring (something like http://www.tftunedshox.com/tech-area/ro ... tting.html) And realistically how difficult is this going to be? I was hoping, similar to the link, that I could just concentrate on the solo air side and remove it from the top without totally removing the bottoms of the fork.
Any feedback would be really appreciated, and a belated Merry Christmas to everyone!!!

If you download the Sram technical manual (LINKY), this explains in words of one syllable and with step-by step photo guides how to service, maintain and adjust ALL Rock Shox products, including a guide on adjustign the travel for Tora 318 Solo Airs.
Rock Shox forks and shocks and VERY easy to "fiddle" with and you don't need any really specialist tools (aside perhaps from circlip pliers and possibly a set of picks for removing o-rings, etc. Oh, and a 24mm socket).
As long as you follow the instructions to the letter, it's a piece of (Christmas) cake. And all the technical information that you'll ever need for them is easily available through the website service support pages.0
