Hi all,i am thinking of getting a set of fox 36 talas forks,i have the chance of some 2008 models hardly used for £350,but talking to the owner at my LBS the other day he did not recommend the 2008 models at all,as i only weigh 10 stone he said the forks don't work well,he said there fine for anyone over 13 stone, but said the 2009 models are fine, does any one know if this is true? as i'd rather spend £350 than £650!!

The 2009 ones are meant to have better small bump respons and be much more like the Float in performance. I havr not heard that the 2008 ones don't work for people who weigh less than 13 stone, however! Sounds like rubbish to me!

EDIT - the Fox manual gives pressures for setting sag for people weighing as little as <125 lbs. Bear in mind that in full riding gear, your weight will be several punds higher than on the bathroom scales.
