i have recently purchased a cboardman with juicy three's:
The brakes work fine but i was just wanting to slightly adjust how far back the levers come as they crush my knuckle upon braking!
What does putting elastic bands on them really do ?
many thanks cboardmandaman1

why not move the levers further towards the stem, that way you an brake with one finger on the end of the lever and it wont be above the other knuckles so wont make contact.
it is how i run my levers
alternatively, there is a 2.5mm screw behind the lever, if you turn that outward, it will move the lever blade further away from the bars and therefore give more room when braking0 -
I think (and I'm probably wrong) that holding the levers in allows trapped air to rise up into the resevoir where it shouldn't compromise the braking. It's easier to ask for forgiveness than for permission.
I've bought a new bike....ouch - result
Can I buy a new bike?...No - no result0 -
Yeah, its the same as wedging the pedle on a car.
- However, ultimatly i would suggest winding the levers out as thats how i found i had to have mine.
Also, if there retracting of the disk a lot, take the wheel off and just squeeze the lever a bit (watching the pad movment) to bring the pads closer. Then replace the wheel and hope you;ve not over cooked it so they rub.

thats what i did with mine. wheel out and bring pads in and adjust the levers out. makes a massive difference"My life is like a porno-movie, without the sex".0

If the levers reach the handlebars, it may mean the brakes need bleeding0
