Ooff - sounds like a nasty crash, glad you're ok. Despite the bad press some inconsiderate road users get, there *are* plenty who are glad to help - just that they go unnoticed day by day. When i had my accident in the summer, i thought several ambulances would turn up, there were so many passers-by getting their phones out :D

Hope you have a speedy recovery 8)

Bad luck fella, that's horrible just before christmas.

As for weight, I have several friends who are all your size and they ride ridiculously light bikes, so I doubt if your to big for the bike. It could be the wheel bearings have seized, that would certainly throw you over the bars, but there could be a number of things that contributed to the crash.

I'd just try to put it behind me, and milk as much sympathy over the festive season as I can  Hope your on the mend soon dude, broken bones aren't much fun

Good to know you will be ok, but the last thing you need at this time of year. Motorists are not all bad, just 99% of them, guess you came accross the 1%, very helpful by the sounds of it. As for your bike, maybe when you feel a little better you can give it a good inspection and locate the problem. By the description you gave it will probably be a new bike anyway so go on, spoil yourself ( its christmas) Ademort

  • Great that you got some help. I think most road users are pretty considerate most of the time.

Hope you get well soon and back on a bike (though probably not that one!)

    Best wishes

Very glad you're still with us, it bothers me a great deal every time I hear of some ones misfortunes.
