On One Banger Hanger?

I am thinking of getting an On One Banger Hanger. It says it replaces the nut on the end of the QR and screws into the mech hanger bolt, but will that make removing the rear wheel a pain in the ass? Would i just have to unscrew the skewer and pull out the axle, or would i have to completely remove the banger every time?

when you release the qr lever it releases the thing at the same time.

But i do not see any point in these things.

I've got one. It does make life little bit more fiddly when removing/refitting the rear wheel but no real problems.

Oh, and I've never broken a hanger since I fitted it.

Well the reason i want it is because i have a steel frame with a non replaceable mech hanger which i have bent already, so now i'v got it strait again, i want it to stay that way. Also i can't seem to find anywhere that dose breakaway hanger bolts. Now that most ally frames have replaceable hangers nowhere stocks them any more!

Dave- Do you use yours with a Shadow mech? Looking at the pictures on CR it looks like they are for older mechs.

I'd be more inclined to fit a breakaway bolt and then carry a spare.

Brant should really change the design to a replaceable mech hanger.

The bolt which holds the mech to the frame. You can get specially weakened ones which will break before the frame does.

Problem with breakaway bolts in my experience they do exactly what it says on the tin but usually at the wrong time halfway up a climb in the middle of nowhere when your nuts are dangerously close to the stem bolts

Well if i could find somewhere that sells them i'd buy lots. I'd rather they break than bend the bloody hanger again. Oh and my stem is so short i would clout my knees into the shifters before my nuts got anywhere near the stem!

Stubs, you just reminded me, FIG ROLLS :) Keep forgetting to get more of them!

Found somewhere that stocks them and was about to order, when i realized they look a bit long for my XT Shadow mech. Do they do any shorter ones that will fit?
