New Bike Urge.

Is anyone else feeling the urge for a new bike?

I can't stop thinking about an '08 SX Trail frame in White and Orange, I've even mentaly decided on what parts I'd build it with.

I've zero use for it as I've already got an '06 Endruo expert (same frame, slightly less trval but lighter) and A Cove Shocker (more capable on Gravity stuff), but the force is strong with this one.

I can see me getting much poorer very soon.

i think it was nicklouse who first said that the corrct number of bikes is n+1 (where n= current number of bikes)

i dont have any room for another bike and i have every angle covered so far as type of riding i do but i know i'll save some money in kenya in the new year and it will be very difficult not to splash on another bike.

maybe a nice road bike hmm...........
  • n+1.. brilliant... damn i need another bike :(

hmm it might also be time for my first ever hardtail. I've had rigids and FS but never a hardtail.

I always feel like this, the next frame I can buy and the next build I can do, good job a think about It more then doing It as the family would not have a roof over there head.
It's not a ornament, so ride It

I'll have had the VT for four years in July. Question is do I pimp it or do I chop it in...?

Despite all my previous assertions I've got to admit liking the look of the Orange Alpine. Or a Nomad. Or maybe a Tracer...

Very difficult situation. New bikes look spangly in the shop with XT mechs drawing your eyes away from sh*te wheels and there's OEM RaceFace finishing kit so you won't notice the budget brakes. And then you see the 3-month old 'demo' bike in the corner...

    Decisions, decisions...

+1 except choices are Marin MV, Commencal Meta 552/ UK/ Merlin spec, And also the Trek ex8.

Was also considering a 5 pro, but the price hike has put me off.

Which is why it will probably be a frame-up self build job whatever it is...

tis the best option if you already have a well specced bit of kit.
i am constantly having to remind myself at the moment that i dont need to turn the stumpy into an orange st4.............
  • i had severe new bike pangs yesterday when out for a much needed quick ride, freewheel started skipping and chain was all over the place! got in a right foul mood with the bike! annoying as the bit of ST i'd just wridden had gone Very well (better thjan many of my more recent attemps!) but every time i stopped peddling and freewheeled i'd have to pedal a few times to get the damn thing engaged! would have happily sold it in the woods yesterday if someone offered me money for it loL!
also doesnt help when your LBS has cube's and Lapierre's in looking Very nice!

  • hmmm i have an urge for a new bike but have not decided on which one yet.
    Jamis Bikes are my favourite.
  • I'v had the new bike urge ever since i got back into biking 2 and a bit years ago. Went from an 05 Carerra Kracken, upgraded everything, then got an InBred 456 frame in April. As much as i love the InBred i decided i need a full suss about 2 weeks after building it up, and am supposed to have been saving since then, but still keep buying new bits for the InBred so i am currently skint! Will probably be another 2 years till i finally have enough money for the current favorite on the short (long) list, a Specialized Pitch Pro.

I've ALWAYS got the new bike urge :) But I fend it off by buying bits instead of whole bikes.

I keep loosing the motivation to go out in this crappy weather after work, so i keep buying new bits for the bike so i can say to myself that i HAVE to ride in the peeing rain so i can test it out
