hi i was out on my bike today and near the end of the ride the bottom bracket started to sound and feel quite rough ,can i just replace a set of bearings or do i have to buy the cups with bearings as i cant see just the bearings on crc or wiggle (i might just be blind its happened before). i will hopefully be able to get a tool to remove the cranks tomorrow so i can have a look ,but until then i have no idea how hard it is to do or whats involved.
any help apprieciated

New cups - which basically is a new bottom bracket.

Very easy to fit. You will need to get the correct spanner for the cups but other than that, it is a 5 minute job.0

The other option you have is to open the cups and replace the bearings. You can get a new set of bearings for about £6,they probably are a 6805zz bearing, that’s why Shimano have written on the cups “Do Not Open” to take all your money…lol
Also you can flick open the seals on the bearings and put waterproof grease in before you fit them.0 -
