Pound/ Euro Bike Prices

With the slump of the pound against the euro, it seems to me that the prices for European imported bikes , especially Italian ones are going to rise quite a bit soon. Likewise for components such as Campy.
Anyone heard of any likely impending price increases?

It will probably depend on what the rate stabilises at, we are in very volatile waters. Last time sterling took a big drop there was a fair bit of a lag as current stock was sold- Wiggle raised their prices in mid-April 2008 on Focus for example. But if the rate stabilises with sterling significantly lower then yes, prices will have to go up.

09 Assos S5 Uno shorts are now £100.00 the 08s were about £85. I was told at the LBS that this was partly due to the falling £.

I got my two pairs of 07 Assos shorts (uno and mille) for about £50  It's going to be a long time before I can afford anymore.....

Interesting to here of some real life price increases.

Looks like I'm going to have to buy that Italian bike sooner rather than later.
