Thought I'd broken my trek

Hello All,
I took the trek to work yesterday because we were off to the pub after for the Christmas meal and I didn't fancy leaving the langster out side all night. Anyway god it's weird riding a freewheel again, I've only been on a fixed for just over a month, but I think there's no going back now. I took me over a mile to get the hang of it again, and riding back after was a laugh, I was sure that I had killed the poor thing, she was slow, made funny noises and you have to use your brakes to stop, what is that all about? Still I made it home ok in the end.

I find as the foot reaches the top of the arc that's where it feels most different

  • I was trying to tell someone about the difference in pedalling on a fixed as opposed to a freewheel, it's actually hard to explain, but definitely noticeable.

I think it's something to do with the additional push your feet get from the pedals...

Or I could be babbling incoherently.

Thank Elvis for that I thought it was just me! The Trek is getting a new set of knobbly tyres for Christmas and will be stay in the mud from now on.

I initially read this as "I thought I'd broken my neck"

Glad to hear its just a bike related problem.

There's enough injury woes on here with LiT's ankle and Greg66's back

    Be careful out there......

It's just natures way of thinning out the herd, show no mercy

Rule #9 // If you are out riding in bad weather, it means you are a badass. Period.
Rule #12 // The correct number of bikes to own is n+1.
Rule #42 // A bike race shall never be preceded with a swim and/or followed by a run.

    Wheat from the chaff
I've added a signature to prove it is still possible.
