Is this a job that can be done at home? Or bike shop only?

I have a set of Mavic Aksiums that i used last winter and want to make sure they're running smooth for use as next year's good wheels...

Aksiums use sealed cartridge bearings so unless they feel rough or there's play, there's nothing much you can do except replace them.
Make mine an Italian, with Campagnolo on the side..

Not to sound preachy, but know what you are doing and going to do before you start.
It's somewhat easy once you get the hang of it but screwing it up can be a pain in the *ss
at the very least and costly at worst. Proper tools are the way to go and I THINK
most Mavic hubs require a special tool(my set does).
