Ice: bad for the head

So, after my Thursday chucking the bike on an icy stretch of road in the early morn, managed to cycle to work. Realised I had a bad head and felt sick, but just continued as normal and cycled home....via a casualty hospital, my head is still hurting. Turns out I am concussed! Have Friday off as a precaution and my wife insists I have a nut MRI scan on Monday......

Lesson 1;

Helmets are a good thing

Lesson 2;

I cycled home not realised that my front mech cable and my rear brake cable had snapped and my handlebars were out of shape

Lesson 3;

Waiting rooms are awful - no bike magazines to look at on fecking Heat or 'Allo!

Lesson 4;

See lesson 2 about cycling with a head injury

Lesson 5;

Shimano Dura Ace cables never come with enough cable ends.

Lesson 6;

When taking the wife's car - never comment on how filthy it is inside or out.......

  • Ooof. Sorry to hear about that! Take it easy, don't push yourself. Concussion sucks.

    Similiar but less dangerous instead of hoping the platen glass of the photo copier will take your weight you simply hold a pc scanner to the required part of the body!

    Far less danger of painfull glass breakage, far more chance of appearing on google news...
