This forum has gone woefully "on topic" lately and so here I go....

I am absolutely NOT ready for Christmas. No tree, shopping not finished, no cards written, etc etc.
Part of me thinks that if I just keep my head down it might all pass without me having to lift another finger....

Anyone else underwhelmed by Christmas so far?

Ps I actually quite like it when I get in the swing of it!

    *uck Christmas

It's bloody annoying, I can't even get into the office
  • I love christmas. One of the guys has just brought me a big package from iwoot.com. I have no idea how I'm going to get it all home.

Why oh why did I have it delivered to the office?

I have a tree in both residences, and the lights on my cottage are going up this weekend.

it's like a boalitia (?sp) beacon, I tell you. An eerie red and green flashing glow over north essex.

When it comes to christmas shopping, wrapping, card-writing and decorating, i always dread it and put it off as much as i can. But when i get stuck in i love it. Spent 2 hours wrapping presents last night with my new christmas cd turned up loud- if the neighbours complain, then bah humbug :)

I got my bike work stand delivered to my office. It's been here a month now. No way I'm getting it home on my bike, that's for sure!

I have done almost all my xmas shopping - just some bits for the gf and my grandmother to go. I put up my xmas lights last night, and my parents' xmas tree on Sunday. I am really excited! Not eaten as many mince pies as usual but then I have been gorging on all kinds of food and booze for the last two months so that's not a bad thing.

Anyone buying for girls or women - www.etsy.com is your friend.
  • Ooooh i like the purple woolly moose! I could probably knit that myself though... but easier to buy...

And it's belisha, eh? Interesting... I will remember that! Clearly I shot and missed on that one...

I have that bike and I absolutely love it. I don't commute on it but I train on it regularly whilst away from home - get one!!

...since the SCR Gala Presentation Dinner my life has been a whirl of parties... :D

...on Saturday I had a huge turkey dinner, on Sunday I had a huge turkey lunch as part of the club Christmas ride and returned home to curried turkey made from the leftovers from Saturday night...

...and there are more nights out to come... :D

I have the decorations out, but not up yet. Started putting lights around the windows, but the first set didn't work. After 20 minutes of fiddling I fixed them, but decided to plug the next set in before I put them up. They worked, until they were up of course! Another 20 minutes later I gave up!

Not wrapped anything yet, so am badly behind. My brother and I celebrate our birthday too this weekend, so a big effort is required before then. May try to put the tree up tonight...

I have a tree, girlfriend insisted upon it.

I have cards and a stocking...

I'll do all my X-mas shopping on X-mas eve.

I've had my X-mas list of presents I want ready since October/November....

I put less and less decorations up each year...as the thought of taking it all down again is depressing, and too much effort.... and i can't wait to get everything back to normal after the event......come the 3-4 th of Jan there is no sign of christmas left here! so this year we have a tree (real and WAY too big!!) and a dickensian village complete with lights....... and that it... :D

Is that where the ladies make up for the lack of male attention by using appliances from their make-up bag ?

BTW done sod-all in the way of prep, going to have a splurge at the weekend. Luckily only have a few pressies to buy. Don't do decs or a tree.
I've added a signature to prove it is still possible.

it's not started yet so nothing to be underwhelmed by..;) Ask me some time on Christmas eve.

Actually I lie - having kids makes Christmas actually bearable...seeing the boys enjoying the buildup is ace.
[shudder] what's going on? Am I becoming less grumpy? scary...

Well Father Christmas just popped by, seems his reindeer were a little tired tonight hence the landrover pulling the sledge.

With the fog and all, very Christmassy indeed, ho ho ho
