they're not that delicate you know!
it'll be fine - try pipe insulation or bubble wrap to protect from scratches if you think you need it0 -

mmm...hilarious!0

I use a cheap bike bag like this for in the car, it is as much to protect the seats as the bike (I have a silly 2+2 car so the back seats are very cramped). I remove both wheels and the seat, takes only 5 minutes to re-assemble. A carbon bike should be no more or less susceptible to scratching than other bikes, but I am keen to keep it as nice as I can for as long as I can!0

cheers guys

+ 1 for a bike bag, keeps bike safe and car clean0

Make sure you keep it clean, carbon fibre rusts like a b!tch:twisted:
And what about all that carcinogenic dust lurking inside the frame and should the frame splinter, razor sharp shards will be waiting to slice you openM.Rushton0 -
It's a well known fact that the unique micro-climate in the back of a car temporarily changes the glass-transition properties of carbon fibre which will result in it shattering into a thousand shards even whilst negotiating a speed-bump! LOLMake mine an Italian, with Campagnolo on the side..0

It's something to do with the heating/air-con delaminating the carbon and releasing resin particles into the air. Also, the more carbon there is, stem, wheels, bars etc the greater the chance of the 'Carbon cascade effect' which has carbon deteriorating faster in proprtion to the amount there isM.Rushton0 -

Easy with the sense of humour failure there fella!
Your bike will be fine, a lot of people seem to think carbon has similar qualities to porcelain hence that gags. If you're worried then pad it with an old blanket or summat. It'll be fine though - providing you're not rear-ended by an HGV...- 2023 Vielo V+1

But at least the blanket will hold the bits and cut down on the shards of c/f in the car.M.Rushton0

I tend to chuck my CF frame after every ride - much safer that way... getting expensive though.

Blimey Stuey - your sense of humour seems a lot more fragile than your bike. Chill out !0

Relax Max! - it's a bike ... in a car!? not a ming vase / faberge egg in a cement mixer!
When mine's in the car I take off the front wheel & often put a mate's bike on top too,
I just use an old karimat + old curtain to separate them, and watch the quick releases / pedals / pointy bits on the parts I want to avoid scratching.
Carbon isn't as fragile as some people imagine . don't worry about it, and enjoy it when you get it!0 -
Surely it'll bang about more once you're riding it, than in the boot of the car? Unless you're in a collission it's not going to do any harm. If you are in a collission your biggest worry should be the bike that's going to pass your head (or go through it) from the back seat at 30+mph.Carlsberg don't make cycle clothing, but if they did it would probably still not be as good as Assos0
