  • Might as well throw in the Commie Meta 666.
That is my perfect definition of am 'AM' rig...6 inches on the back, but propedal for climbs/fire road hacks.
I do own one, but I'm not shoving it down your throat. Test it and see.
Meta 55 and all the variations are sorted trail bikes, but 666 takes the AM crown.

No doubt it's not as good as an Orange tricycle or anything

Dot 4 in the eye hurts. Trust me
  • I run a Morewood Shova ST.
The ST stands for Short Travel, but at 5.2 inches of travel at the back and 5 at the front the travel ain't that short.
It's a great bike, it does everything. It climbs well, it decends well, it soaks up poor landings when I run out of talent, it's ridiculously easy to maintain the dirty bits and it looks great (in my opinion).

I can't afford more than one bike so it was important to me to have a trully universal machine, and I think I have it. I'd happily reccomend it to a friend or buy another myself.

I hope this doesn't offend anyone,

Personally I wouldn't include the Enduro SL as an All Mountain bike. I own a '06 Endruo Expert and was gutted to see a few months after I paid so much for it that Spesh had released such an "improved" version. That was until I tried one back in summer with a view to buying it....... I have to say it's a FAR better climber than the old endruo but that where it ends for me.

I took it for a lap of Pen Hydd at Afan, not exactly a hardcore trail it didn't feel anywhere as stable, agile or as gripy as mine. Granted it had Spesh ownbrand tyre on which I've got no time for. Try as I could with the fork and shock I couldn't get it to handle. I was so frustrated I bailed on the last few sections and took the fireroad back. The Guy from Tredz asked me what I thought "not for me" I said "yeah, I'm not surprised" he said giving mine back.

I'd say they're a great trail bike, but IMHO they're more like a Stumpy with an extra inch than the Bruising Endruo of old.

haha so true!! i also tried an enduro SL, and couldnt get on with the shocks. i find mine is much more stable coming downhill, and holds its line better when the going gets, er, rough. the SL seems to have lost the 'bruiser' of the previous gen and gone all light and not quite right in places.
I said hit the brakes not the tree!!
